I earned my BS in Biology, with a focus on Ecology, from Azusa Pacific University. My next objective is to head to graduate school and obtain my MS in an environmental field, most likely stream ecology. One day, I believe I will get my Ph.D. in that field. I have dreams of doing important work, possibly teaching conservation biology in a graduate school setting, or in a totally different direction, creating a program for children with anxiety and depression, a place they can take a retreat to and heal in a peaceful setting. I have a lot of experience with tutoring and teaching students of all ages from elementary through college. When I tutor, I first focus on discovering what a student's best motivated by, and then working with that to help them succeed as they pursue their learning goals. Individual tutoring is very satisfying, because you get the opportunity to be part of a student's real struggle toward success. I especially enjoy tutoring in math and science, where it's tricky to get the students personally engaged, as it's not always obvious how these topics connect with their lives. I also enjoy getting to know students by working with them on their college essays.
