I am a senior at Western Governors University. I am currently working towards a degree in special education. I will be certified both in special ed (K-12) and elementary ed (K-6) upon graduation.
Experience
I am currently in my last semester to obtain my Bachelor's degree in elementary education. I have completed my certification requirements for a special education endorsement, which I will receive upon graduation next year. I have several years experience prior to this as a substitute teacher, tutor, and private nanny, where I have taught a variety of subjects to a myriad of students of varying grade and comprehension levels. Be they special needs, gifted, in critical need of help, or are best served by just a nudge in the right direction, I can cater to the education needs of any student. Schools today can work at a very fast pace and if the student doesn't fully grasp the material, sometimes they are left behind as the teachers are forced to continue on. I've worked with many students and I've come to know how this can make them feel: Depressed, agitated, detached, angry, or disappointed. It is my mission as your tutor to help you not only learn the material, but also to help you feel good about learning again. Learning is one of the greatest joys we can experience and I intend to keep it that way. I can teach almost anything to almost anybody. I fully welcome the chance to work with anyone with learning difficulties or special needs and I hope you'll welcome me, too. My schedule is flexible. My style is flexible. I want to see everyone have a chance to reach their potential. But the most important thing is helping you find the fun in learning again.
